Membership Options

To best serve the need of Lutherans and their families, Thrivent Financial for Lutherans offers three forms of membership including:
  1. Benefit Member – A benefit member is an individual age 16 or over who has been admitted for membership in accordance with Thrivent Financial's membership eligibility rules and who is a member on a Thrivent Financial insurance or annuity product or who is a member and received a settlement agreement from such insurance. For more information, contact your financial representative with Thrivent Financial for Lutherans.
  2. Associate Member – An associate member is age 16 or over who has been admitted for membership in accordance with Thrivent Financial's membership eligibility rules and who has been issued a certificate of membership. Associate members do not have an insurance or annuity product from Thrivent Financial for Lutherans. To apply for associate membership of Thrivent Financial, fill out this form.

    Benefit and associate members are eligible to:

    • Participate in or lead a chapter.
    • Vote in chapter elections.
    • Receive Thrivent magazine.
    • Order member educational and information benefits.

  3. Youth Member – A youth member is an individual age 15 or younger who has been admitted for membership in accordance with Thrivent Financial's membership eligibility rules and who is issued a certificate of membership. Youth members transition to benefit or associate members when they reach age 16.

    Youth members are eligible to:

    • Participate in a chapter.
    • Receive Thrivent magazine.
    • Order member educational and information benefits.
